Due to heavy rain and storms causing flooding in the central part of Europe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that those who are going to or are already in Austria, the Czech Republic, in Poland, in Romania or Slovenia, compatriots to take precautions.
When visiting these countries, Lithuanians are encouraged to follow the latest information in the local media, not to visit forests and parks where trees may turn.
It is also advised to have a fully charged mobile phone with you and in important cases to inform the rescue service by calling 112 and to register on the www.keliauk.urm.lt website by filling out the travel registration form so that we can contact you for consular assistance if necessary.
Elta reminds that in Central Europe, rivers flooded due to heavy rains caused floods. At least two people were killed in Austria and Poland, thousands were forced from their homes and flooding damaged electricity and transport infrastructure.
