"Beam” says on his Facebook account that preparations are starting for the expected rains of Wednesday night.
"The downpour, which drowned Warsaw this morning, is moving towards Vilnius along the S8 highway.
This year, heavier rains have already overtaken Vilnius several times and scattered elsewhere - but it is likely that it will not be this way forever. If the amount of precipitation in the capital of Lithuania will be at least somewhat similar to in Poland, it is likely that the rain in Vilnius will significantly disrupt the normal life of the city on Wednesday," Grinda writes.
The company's employees are preparing for the test of the elements, so additional crews are being formed to help deal with heavy rainfall.
"If you need to go to the pharmacy or store, we recommend that you take care of it tonight.
If you have the opportunity to postpone non-critical Wednesday morning trips, do so," Grinda adds.
You can report traffic disruptions caused by rain by calling 1355, e-mail by post [email protected] or through the "Manage the city" app.
ADDED: The Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service reports that there will be no such storm as in Warsaw.
"We want to inform you that the information about the forecasted 120 mm of rain spread in the social space is wrong. Specialists of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service do not forecast such a rainfall amount either in Vilnius or elsewhere in Lithuania on Wednesday.
According to the current weather model calculations, it is likely that 15 to 49 mm of precipitation will fall in many areas of the country on Wednesday, and 50-80 mm of precipitation may fall in places, most likely in the northern part of the country," the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service writes.
