Lithuania will be drenched in rain over the weekend, with positive temperatures at night and daytime temperatures of 10–15 degrees Celsius, says Ineta Daunoravičiūtė, a forecaster at the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT).
According to the weather forecaster, a low-pressure system will be moving near Lithuania on Saturday. Low clouds will darken the sky, and intermittent rain will fall across the country.
"The wind will blow in a changing direction at medium strength. On an overcast and rainy day, the temperature will rise slowly and warm up to 10-15 degrees Celsius," I. Daunoravičiūtė told Elta.
A cyclone will be moving over the country on Sunday night, so the weather will be similar - it will rain in many places, with heavy rain expected in the northern regions. According to the weather forecaster, moderate winds will blow, and the temperature will rise to 4-9 degrees Celsius at night.
"There will be no more pronounced weather changes on Sunday either. Rain will continue intermittently in many places. Winds of 5–10 m/s will continue to blow from various directions. The temperature will rise again to 10–15 degrees Celsius," says I. Daunoravičiūtė.
Winds will ease at the beginning of the week, temperatures will rise to 11-16 degrees Celsius
It is forecasted that there will be less rain on Monday night. As the short cyclone moves east, it should rain only in places, mainly in the northern regions of the country. The wind will die down. With the onset of clear weather, the temperature will drop to 2-7 degrees Celsius.
"On Monday, the cyclone in the east will again lead to a rainy day. It will rain in most of the country. Northwest, westerly winds will prevail, strengthening to a felt speed of 7-12 m/s. The temperature will be slightly higher and will reach 11-16 degrees Celsius," the forecaster said.
According to her, rain clouds will move away from Lithuania on Tuesday night. True, there may be a little rain in some places in the first half of the night, but there will be a lot of clear weather in the morning. The wind will not change direction, it will be weaker. At night, it will cool down again to 2-7 degrees Celsius.
"On Tuesday, a high-pressure system strengthening over the country will lead to a dry day. The sky will be sunny, and the chance of rain is low. The temperature will be more pleasant and will reach 15-20 degrees, and about 13 degrees on the coast," said a LHMT forecaster.
Warmer and drier weather is expected in the middle of the week. No rain on Wednesday night, with only brief and light rain in some places during the day. Winds will remain moderate, mostly from the west. Temperatures will drop to 2-7 degrees at night, and rise to 14-19 degrees during the day.
