Weather changes are here. Forecaster Elvyra Latvėnaitė predicts that the strengthening cyclone Magnus will reach Lithuania in the coming days, bringing rain, thunderstorms and cooler weather, while the heat will have to wait a little longer - it will return only next week.
"Change is right around the corner, as the cyclone named Magnus over southern Scandinavia is increasingly turning and strengthening," says the forecaster.
On Wednesday The cyclone will reach the Baltics and Lithuania with its eastern, southeastern edge, and with it will come clouds of atmospheric fronts. They will bring rain, and in some places thunderstorms.
From Thursday Cooler air will begin to push into the country from the north, which will cool the western part of Lithuania more.
Friday and Saturday A wavy atmospheric front will stretch near the eastern regions of the country, which will again bring more rain - mainly in the eastern part, while there will be less precipitation in the western regions.
From Sunday Lithuania will find itself at the junction of two different weather systems – humid cyclones will prevail in the west and northwest, and a drier anticyclone in the east and southeast. However, both systems will be in their calmer phase.
Cooler weather will continue into the weekend. Especially Saturday and Sunday nights Cool weather is forecast - Sunday night, if it clears up, will be the coldest.
Middle of next week The weather will start to warm up, and along with the heat, there will be a chance of short showers and thunderstorms.
"With the increased warmth, short showers and thunderstorms will disappear," predicts Latvėnaitė.
