Although Lithuania will enjoy slightly warmer weather in the coming days, forecaster Elvyra Latvėnaitė warns that significantly cooler weather will reach the country next week, and even wet snowflakes may appear in places.
A cyclone system is expanding through Scandinavia towards the Baltics and Eastern Europe, bringing stronger winds and moisture.
"Tomorrow its atmospheric front will travel through Lithuania, it's a pity that it won't rain much and not everywhere," says the forecaster.
On Wednesday, another cyclone will pass near Lithuania, again bringing rain for a short time. Such northern cyclones are not stingy with moisture, but they are not generous either.
After a somewhat calmer Thursday, stormier and rainier cyclones will move across Scandinavia, the Baltics, and Eastern Europe from Friday. By the weekend, warmer air will reach Lithuania from the south and southwest - it will be warmer during the days, and on Friday it may get significantly warmer in some places.
It will still remain chilly at night - although frost is not expected in the air, small frosts may form on the surface of drier soil, in lowlands or depressions.
However, it will start to get cold again starting this weekend, and at the beginning of next week, according to current data, the weather will cool down even more.
On Monday, May 5, it will rain intermittently, sometimes the rain may be accompanied by wet snowflakes. Wind west, northwest 7–12 m/s, gusts up to 15–17 m/s during the day. Temperature at night 0–4 °C, during the day 7–10 °C.
On Tuesday, May 6, no precipitation is expected at night, but it will rain again during the day, with possible wet snowflakes. Wind from the west direction - 4–8 m/s at night, 6–11 m/s during the day. Temperature at night - minus 1 - plus 2 °C, during the day - 7–10 °C.
The weather forecaster emphasizes that spring is really capricious this year, so it is important to monitor forecasts and be prepared for unexpected weather changes.
