The National Crisis Management Center (NKMC) and the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT) sent warning messages to residents' mobile phones about an approaching storm in the country on Monday.
"We inform you from the NKVC and LHMT that this (Monday - ELTA) evening from 21.00:23 p.m. dangerous wind gusts will begin to strengthen in southwestern Lithuania (during thunderstorms up to 15 m/s). Tomorrow, wind gusts will reach 20-25 m/s in many places, and up to XNUMX m/s on the coast," we write in the messages sent to residents.
"Protect yourself and your property, avoid being near trees and high-voltage wires," the services add.
As the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT) has already announced, on Tuesday night there will be intermittent rain in many places, heavy in places, and thunder in many areas. Wind from the south, turning to the west, 9–14 m/s, gusts of 15–20 m/s in places, up to 23 m/s during thunderstorms in some places.

The Energy Distribution Operator (ESO), for its part, stated that it would strengthen its forces due to the predicted storm on Tuesday.
The operator also recommends avoiding going outside unless absolutely necessary, and parking cars away from trees. Residents are urged to close windows tightly and remove items from balconies or yards that could be blown away by the wind.
It is emphasized that if you see power lines broken by the wind, you should report this to ESO specialists as soon as possible by calling 1852. Residents can also register power supply disruptions on the information map on the ESO website (eso.lt). If the disruption has already been registered, there is no need to do this again.
