Today (December 20) at 13 p.m. in the capital's Cathedral and City Hall squares and at the "Hyper Rimi" shopping center Žirmūnai (Žirmūnų St. 64) - foresters will distribute free spruce branches to residents to decorate their homes before the holidays. This campaign, which has already become a tradition, "Bring Christmas to your home", is organized by the Ministry of Environment, the General Forest Office and all forest offices.
This year, more than 100 seats in Lithuania are planned to be distributed over 200 people. branches.
Foresters hope that the branches donated during the campaign will decorate many houses, create a festive mood and help protect hundreds of trees growing in the forests from the ax. Spruce branches will come from prepared logging runs and not a single tree will be cut down. Foresters encourage you to admire the growing green grass in nature. After all, a Christmas tree grows to a height of one meter in only six to seven years.
Approaching St. With Christmas and the start of the trade in Christmas trees, the eyes of evil-doers turn to the forest's greenery. Environmentalists remind those who intend to cross them arbitrarily that they face administrative responsibility.
