December 20 13 p.m. throughout the country - in the main squares of cities and towns, in larger gathering places - foresters will distribute spruce branches to residents for free to decorate their homes before the holidays. This campaign, which has become a tradition, "Bring Christmas to your home", is organized by the Ministry of Environment, the General Forest Office and all 42 forest offices.
This year, more than 100 seats in Lithuania are planned to be distributed over 200 people. branches. All locations where branches will be donated are listed in the Appendix. Christmas trees will be distributed to residents of big cities in the usual places. For Vilnius residents - in the Cathedral and City Hall squares and at "Hyper Rimi" shopping center Žirmūnai (Žirmūnų st. 64), for the people of Kaunas - in the town hall square and near Šilainiai seniūnija (Baltų pr. 53), for Klaipėda residents - in Teatro Square, for Šiauliai residents - in the central town square near Šiauliai State College (Aušros al. 60), for Panevėžys residents - in Laisvė Square.
Foresters hope that the branches donated during the campaign will decorate many houses, create a festive mood and help protect hundreds of trees growing in the forests from the ax. Spruce branches will come from prepared logging runs and not a single tree will be cut down. Foresters encourage you to admire the growing green grass in nature. After all, a Christmas tree grows to a height of one meter in only six to seven years.
Approaching St. With Christmas and the start of the trade in Christmas trees, the eyes of evil-doers turn to the forest's greenery. Environmentalists remind those who intend to cross them arbitrarily that they face administrative responsibility.
The Code of Administrative Offenses (Article 272) stipulates that arbitrary felling, destruction or damage of trees and bushes on forest land owned by the state, when no more than 10 cubic meters of trees and/or bushes are cut down, destroyed or injured, incurs a fine from 60 to 300 euros.
For the use of wild vegetation resources in violation of the established procedure, a fine of 10 to 30 euros can be imposed, and managers of legal entities or other responsible persons - from 30 to 60 euros. Trade in wild plants or their parts in violation of the established procedure incurs a fine from 10 to 30 euros, and for managers of legal entities or other responsible persons - from 70 to 140 euros.
